Profile Information

About Me:
Art, sewing, skiing, reading, embroidery, cars (Jeeps and Mini Coopers), road trips, dogs - especially Golden Retreivers, horses, animal rescue, rock n roll, anything to do with England, the UK, and British History, technology, good beer, and Mexican food are all things I'm passionate about.
Where I'm from:
The Heart is in Colorado on top of a mountain in some snow... the body is stuck in H-E-Double-Hockeysticks, aka Arizona.
About my Art:
I love to draw, paint, collage, make books, work in artistic decos, solder, play with wire, do all sorts of things, making stuff. I've studied art all my life and despite having a business degree and liking that too, it's art that really grabs me. So I'm torn between technology and art.
My Favorite Website: (Boast about yours!)

Another Website Favorite: (Yours- a blog?)

Marilyn Weyman Kegg

Woah! First Post on a New Blog!

So here we are on a new social networking site. I've carefully avoided them in the past, and now in just the past month, I've joined this one, ning, and a business one, LinkedIn. We'll see. I am honored to be the first of the group members here, which is mainly because I volunteered and that's just because I'm a geek.

ROFL.........I love it, Marilyn! Sounds like my room.....I just keep piling stuff in the corner ('cuz I'm gonna git to it tomarrie!).....Yeah, I've been photographing everything... well, except the hubby in underwear! I love this camera
....so far.....it's kinda like the new vacuum cleaner.....just wait until I'm vacuuming the carpet six months from now and ask me! Hey, since you're uncovering so much buried treasure....you should have plenty of goodies to make some art....find that camera and take a photo. ")

Hey, Marilyn, didn't realize that I hadn't been to your page.....because we "talk" so much, I felt like I'd been here! Love your page............I'm not happy with mine but have not had time to play around with it...........and I'm not a very savvy computer person......LOL as if everyone at BookArtz didn't know that! I didn't know you were an Anglophile, too!!! I love British history........was fortunate to travel to Britain in the 80's (3X!!!) and once in the early 90's........what a glorious treat. Wouldn't traveling together over there be a hoot!

No one was hurt but the car. The old guy may have good insurance but I am just dumb with that kind of stuff. I'll jut be glad to get my deductible back from him. Guess everyone could use the expertise of the Sports Fan!!!

The show was great and my voice did come back, thanks! I am not usually nostalgic when a show ends but this one has left me kind of sad. It was a really nice group of people and I do miss them quite a lot. You'd think I'd get back to working on swaps but I'm just zoning out! Oh well, I guess there's a time for resting too!

I'd hate to be surrounded by old geezers in their golf carts..... :)

I like the looks of your page by the way. I tried to put a cool picture at the top of mine like you did but you can't see the cool parts..... I'll have to try again!

Well I need to get back to shredding.... I got distracted from working by trying to clean off my dining room table!!!

Thanks for the welcome!! I am so far behind on things that I am almost hopeless. My folks came down for the show and I had to pitch a great number of supplies in a closet...I am tearing my hair out looking for dimensional glue dots so I can finish a swap....lawsy, as my grandmother would have said!!! If it wasn't for the fact that I just totalled my car (old guy failed to stop for a line of cars at a stop light....too bad I was last in line) I'd run to the store and buy some more.... sigh.

Basket weaving.....any chance you have some bookmarks of some fairly easy weaves? I haven't looked around yet. I want to do some things in thin gauge sterling. (Yes, this is my artistic ADD rearing it's head again!) I don't understand why I always want to work so tiny!

Hi Marilyn,
We have more in common too. I lived in Colorado for five years (Evergreen area) and finally moved back to California because of the snow and the cold. It is a beautiful place, though. I loved the summers. I've never learned to spin and sold my big loom a couple of years ago. I still have a small Norwood loom that suits my needs for now. I did buy a fixer-upper loom that will hold 8 shafts, but I'll probably have to have the second four custom made. The whole thing needs refinishing, but it only cost me a hundred bucks! Nice to meet you here. Val.
