Hey Jul, I ran across more of those roller queen dolls and I have a small stash of 2X2" canvases. Are you still interested in something for your "team?" ;) Let me know.
Yeah- those days are over. I remember it like that too....we listened to whatever they listened to. My little one (4) sings along with the song clips on Disney channel. I've never determined if he really likes her or if it's just because his big brother (8) likes her. For a little while we listened to her cd when we were in the car. Kids can listen to the same thing over & over- me....I want a little variety. Then they got little mp3 players for Christmas- now they listen quietly (but usually sing along....are are both listening to different songs) and I listen to whatever I want to listen to.
Up until a few weeks ago I would have said she's a positive role model, then I noticed on American Idol Gives Back that her second performance was too much for the kids. She was trying to be too sexy & grown up. Why don't kids just enjoy being kids?
I have some scrabble tile pendants drying as we speak! When we play at my house, someone has to count all the tiles to make sure they're still there. I don't have the heart to tell them about the jars full I have in the play space.
Thanks, Jul. Now if I could just get the people I play Scrabble with to let me color out of the lines there... I always try to play off the board. They never let me.
Heh... I'm glad you like Roller Queen. I loved her. Sadly, she is only one and was part of a 2-inch canvas project. I don't know if her bottom half came from a Happy Meal or some other kid meal, but I only had one of her, too. (I still have the top half of her body, though... not much help, I know.) Interestingly, this was the first altered anything I'd ever made. And as all the other pictures for the challenge went up, I saw they all stayed within the 2 inch canvas. I just knew I'd done it wrong because I was coloring outside the lines! Finally someone else posted a pic with extraneous parts and I was relieved.
I wonder if this couldn't be done with a real doll that wears real skates. Maybe you could do one for each member of your team. Make cute little skirts and personalized shirts? :)
Oh my! I can imagine the Wizard of Oz shoes. What fun!! I'm going to get my shoe inspiration from you. I hope you don't mind some questions when I get started? :)
Ok- you have a little girl.....maybe you'll get this- LOL. When you say "Rock Star" I think of the Hannah Montana song.....I really am a rock star! ROFL. Yeah.....too much kids music sometimes. ;-)
