Altered abuse book

Hi everyone, I've posted an altered book I did about child abuse. Be forewarned that there is sensitive material. It is my first altered book, and I loved every minute of it. It really helped me process, and so was in some ways a therapeutic tool. It's very personal, but I feel safe sharing it with you all here. Let me know what you think!

I just looked through your first book. Very powerful. I could do one of these on loss/grief (and I might someday) but I am very afraid of it ;) Afraid it would take me down too far. I can see how this would be healing and I congratulate you on your bravery to show it, but most especially to create it!

Hi Elizabeth, I just thought I'd let you know that I posted the piece I told you about, on the topic of child abuse, along with a little video I did. It's on my blog Beyond Words It combines a bit of my sculpture with my book work.
Take care, Karin

Hi Elizabeth, Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my soul collage cards. Wow, I just looked thru your altered book, powerful emotions, and a difficult subject. How brave of you for tackling it! Looking forward to more of your works!

Thank you- sorry I haven't gotten to writing back on all your comments, my kids drive me to distraction and I might get to read comments but to actually participate in a dialog is very rare. I like your altered book, it is very clear what your message was before I read what it was about. I am glad it was therapeutic; it is put together very well (I would like to comment more on it later) and I look forward to see other work in the future.

Wow Elizabeth... I agree with Karin very powerful. I hope you don't mind if I share this with my daughter... she is a abuse survivor , like myself. Maybe this can empower her also. Thank you for sharing your healing process. It is very well done.

Really powerful Eleizabeth - and courageous of you to share, let alone create. I can imagine it must have been empowering - your imagery and words are raw, truthful, strong, bold, beautiful and triumphant. Really well done.

I did a book/sculpture piece on child abuse, more of a social/societal statement than personal, which I am currently working on creating a video presentation of. I hope to have it up in the next couple weeks.
Thank you for sharing your personal healing expressive book,
Karin
