I am at my daughter's home using her computer to update the group on my current situation. We were hit by lightening last Monday night. We lost our phone, computer, TV, electric igniter on our cook stove..................haven't found anything else yet!!! We won't have a technician at our house until next Wed. They are so overwhelmed with calls because of so many strikes. I can't even tell you how many times our towers have been down and we have been without electricity. The past 3 days have been much calmer. No rain or thunderwstorms since Thurs morn. The river is rising and our lake ==3 miles above us== is 25ft above normal. The last time we were flooded it reached 30ft and they had to open all the gates full blast ...................nice to have the river at the back of the property when it not flooding....but it is times like this that I wish I lived on top of a hill. I am praying that my computer is not fried. Will try to get back on line sometime next week. May be Wed/Thurs. Sharon

Oh my gosh Sharon...that sounds like what we've just been through here. I am on a hill and glad of it. Please take care and let us know how things progress.

We now have our telephone service again. ATT had to borrow men from other areas to get caught up on all the outages. Our guy was from Beaumont, TX and we're 15 miles west of Tulsa, OK. ") Still no computer. Techies are so swamped, too. About every other neighbor I talk to has also had a computer hit. Well.........getting a lot of cleaning down! ***ugh*** I'm caught up on all my swaps. Doing some canvases for a friend of mine now. I miss everyone!!!

Sharon - wow - we see this on tv, but rarely know someone who is living through it. This was happening to you as we were complaining about a downpour of rain at our niece/goddaughter's (outdoor) wedding last Saturday!! My Daddy always told us to never complain, because someone somewhere is going through something worse.
How are things progressing now? There were people in Michigan without power for a week when a big storm hit further north of us. The power was out at our restaurant for 2 hours the other night ... it's been quite a summer! Hang in there!
BIG HUGS, Lyn

I am so sorry to hear about this Sharon. I hope your computer is not fried as that is so frustrating. Hope that lake stays put at 25! Let us know how everything is going for you when you can.

UPDATE! Yep, the computer is fried! It's cryin' time, ladies! My, oh my, we have so many things going on down here right now. Hubby is conferring with retirement counselor.....American is offering "early retirement" enticements to some departments. I don't know what the entails yet......he may not either....but we go to see the counselor next week, so hopefully he'll sort this all out. I'm hoping for a nice big, juicy bonus SO I CAN GET A NEW COMPUTER!!!! Gosh, I miss you all. But,
I am very busy. Middle daughter and boyfriend are expecting and getting ready for a wedding (yeah, backwards, I know). I'm making invitations.....they're running around looking at possible sites for the wedding. Rachel said if it was up to her, it would be
blood test, court house, all done. But, Greg has never been married before and he's doing this for his mother......who has already told Rachel how excited she is to have Dillon and Cody in their family, but now is even more excited to for she and Greg to be having a baby. Retirement, wedding, baby...................enough already! Hope to back online soon,..............................
