Frottage Collage

Frottage from the French word frotter...to rub. A technique of creating a design by rubbing with wax or pencil over a tactile object placed underneath a thin piece of paper.
If you like to paint or collage, you might enjoy following a mini tutorial that I have posted on my weblog. The tutorial can be viewed on http://createwithmoxie.blogspot.com/ and, The completed collage ohoto can be seen on http://art-with-moxie.blogspot.com/
I hope you join me in this technique....I know you will enjoy playing with crayons, we weren't afraid of crayons in kindergarden, why are we afraid of them now ? Join the fun.

Thank you for visiting my websites, and for being my new friend. I love the beautiful fairy on your avatar. Very similar to the "klimt" challenge process photo on my website...are these fun to do or what.

My avatar is a computer collage made with a picture of myself that was taken in 2003...so thank you...I needed to feel like a beautiful fairy, today! :)

WOW....I just saw the Mayan Prince on your Website! GORGEOUS!!! Also, synchronistic, as I spent some time, just yesterday, studying a Mayan Taro deck that my sister found at a yard sale and brought to me. I am very interested in that culture and feel called to it, somehow.

Still haven't found the "klimt" challenge photo...could you add a more direct link, please? :)

You are one beautiful fairy... Thanks for the kudos on the Mayan Prince. I still have one more painting of that series somewhere in incubation. The Klimt Challenge post is on http://createwithmoxie.blogspot.com That was fun to do as it got me out of my norm...hope you like it.

OOoooh....I did see that one! I loved it, too! I did a physical collage with that same picture for a swap. I'll see if I can find it and upload it to my pics. It really is fun collaging with photos of myself and my own family. I plan to do more of that, for my children (who are all grown up, now).

Glad you found it..Explain "physical collage with that same picture."
The picture on the Klimt challenge was painted by me...it is not a photo image.
Hope you find yours, I'd love to see it.
Talk at you again soon, Cory

Oops....I didn't phrase that quite right. No worries! Your images have not been stolen. I can see how my phrasing might have confused you. I was going back to my OWN picture. I used that same photo of myself to create a textured ACEO. I did post the picture in my photos, along with some other collages including one I did of my mother.

Whew! I hope we understand each other, now! I'd hate to lose the respect of such an awesome artist! :)

That's not what I meant...I'm not at all worried about the image being "stolen" by anyone, just wanted to let you know that I had painted the image abd not used a photo. Sorry frick, this is frack signing off. LOL
