I cut the copper sheet, used my new dividers....straight lines can be a beautiful thing. Then I filed the edges and corners. Drilled holes. Tumbled them. Grabbed some pages from an old book (1920's) and started tearing & burning. The smell of vintage paper burning isn't pleasant. Then I used gel medium to adhere the paper. I scanned this before I added jump rings so that I could get a better scan. Then I added the jump rings & bagged them up. Twenty five of them. Well I made more, but 25 are for the swap.

My oldest had a look at them while I was working on them & said they looked like something from the movie National Treasure. Then I realized that I had made them right after we watched the movie. Sometimes it amazes me where inspiration comes from, when you aren't even paying attention or looking for it. That's the best kind!

Toni- I could never get a straight line either....but then I can't with scissors when I'm cutting paper either. LOL. These are dividers:

I picked mine up at Ace Hardware or Home Depot, one of those places. And with those- I can cut a straight line in metal....with shears or snips or a saw.

Oh, these are wonderful!!! I'm just beginning to work with metal and really enjoy it. Exactly what are the dividers and how did you get these so straight? I use tin shears and can never get my sheeting in a straight line. xoxo, Toni

Thanks ladies ;-) (blushing)

Marilyn- you should jump in if we do a charm swap again.
Susan- these were 22 gauge
Bettina- Thanks. Tumbling metal in a rock tumbler, with stainless steel shot. It hardens the metal, shines it up & it'll take off any burrs or rough spots.

Just beautiful, Stacy! You make me want to run down to my workshop and make charms. Life has been too challenging, lately and I even had to drop out of a recent charm swap that I was really looking forward to. I sure hope I can pull things together, soon, and get started on some charms of my own. Such an inspiration you are!

Can you tell us more about tumbling? :)
